Bid Optimizer for Linear Inventory*
When building a media plan, you may be wondering how many spots to bid on and how much to bid. The Bid Optimizer BETA does just that - it takes the guesswork out of deciding bid price and quantity and provides bid suggestions.
Please note: the Bid Optimizer BETA provides suggestions for bids, it does not guarantee clearance or performance.
FAQ
Where can I find the Bid Optimizer BETA?
The Bid Optimizer BETA is located in the Bulk Action Center. Select the appropriate inventory then type in "Optimize Bids" in the Bulk Action Center to get started.
What information do I need to enter?
All you need to do is enter parameters such as Target Spend, Maximum Spots Per Hour, and designate a Bidding Strategy - then let the Bid Optimizer do the rest.
What are the different bid strategies and how do I know which one to select?
There are three bid strategies - Conservative, Moderate, and Aggressive. We predict that you will clear at the following percentages:
Conservative: A conservative bid strategy will lead to booking at higher rates and also more confidence that the actual spend will be closer to target. It falls into the 25th percentile of historical shave rates that were previously booked on those networks.
Moderate: A moderate bid strategy will place your bid in the 50th percentile of historical shave rates that has previously booked on those networks and rotations. This is where we typically try to be and represents a more standard shave.
Aggressive: An aggressive bid strategy has the potential for better performance, but also a greater risk of over or under spending your target budget, since there's greater uncertainty in the clearance estimate. An aggressive bid strategy will place your bid in the 75th percentile of historical shave rates that has previously booked on those networks.
Can this tool balance rotations in relation to other items in the plan?
Currently, this functionality is not available.
Is the Bid Optimizer BETA available for both linear and streaming inventory?
At this time, this feature is only available for linear inventory.
